Never before has there been a better time to buy a brand new leather bed or leather bed frame. Since they first stormed onto the scene on mass in around 1999 the leather bed ideal has changed dramatically.

In the beginning it was all about the size of the bed and the high price as it was believed that only the wealthy would pay the price for a bed made from leather. As designs changed and more and more colour choices became available, it was obvious that the Leather Bed was here to stay and stay at the top. Our obsession with real leather beds was not yet ready to be replaced by what was seen as this fake pretender and for quite a while people looked upon Faux Leather as plastic. In the beginning it was like pushing water up hill and due to the manufacturing costs the difference in price was not enough to sway public opinion. This was all about to change! As the need for leather bed frames grew so did the prices and before too long the price of a top quality double faux leather bed was almost at the £200 a bed figure. This was not due to reduced quality materials or cheap manufacturing, it was in fact down to the superior quality materials used and vastly enhanced manufacturing techniques being implemented. This change had shown for the first time that it was almost impossible to tell the difference between a real leather bed and a faux leather bed without smelling the unmistakeable scent of we all know you get from genuine leather. Needless to say public opinion changed and as the story goes the rest is history.
